From virtual production and AI to the growing crossover between film and games, the screen industries are evolving fast. For the young people you support, that means new roles, new routes and more connected pathways than ever before.

This month, we're spotlighting emerging opportunities, classroom-ready resources and live events that help students explore what's possible - and where they might fit.

New to Into Film?

All you need to access our resources and training is an Into Film Account. It's completely free, and only takes a moment to set up. Sign up today to access thousands of resources, training opportunities, Into Film+ streaming, and so much more.

Story Builder: Sports Broadcasting resource

If you're looking for a practical starting point, Story Builder: Sports Broadcasting is a free resource created in partnership with TNT Sports. Designed for ages 11-14, it explores narrative development through the lens of live sports broadcasting while highlighting the roles behind the scenes. It supports careers education across the four UK nations, including Gatsby Benchmark 2.

Once you have used the resource in class, email us a photograph or scanned copy of your completed Story Builder: Sports Broadcasting packs and you'll be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win an in-person careers Q&A session at your school with a TNT Sports Broadcaster.

Online Training: Screen Careers Across the Curriculum

Screen careers are not confined to media, film studies or moving image arts. From English and art to business, science and technology, there are natural links across many subjects.

This free CPD session explores how screen industry careers can support wider curriculum conversations, helping you connect subject learning to real-world pathways. If you're based in England, it will help you to meet Gatsby Benchmark 4, linking curriculum learning to careers.

Virtual Work Experience: Explore Hidden Jobs in Film & TV

Dates: Monday 6, Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8 July 2026

In partnership with Futures for All, we are hosting a three-day live remote work experience for young people, exploring the hidden jobs that bring stories to life.

Students will hear directly from a selection of industry professionals, which might include locations managers, runners and camera operators, before completing a creative brief of their own.

Students should sign up by Saturday 6 June.

Webinar: What's new in screen industry careers? Emerging roles in film, TV and games

Date: Thursday 18 June, 10:00-11:00

In this live broadcast, professionals working in evolving roles will discuss how new developments, technology and AI are shaping their careers - and what that means for future entrants.

Students will gain a clearer understanding of routes, skills and next steps.
Book your class or group in to join the broadcast.

Video Games and Film

While attending the London Games Festival 2026, we heard how growth in games and screen content is creating converging career opportunities.

UK consumers spent £8.76bn on video games in 2025 - and around a quarter of films currently in production are based on video games.

For students interested in storytelling, animation, technology or production, the choice may no longer be 'film or games', but how to enter a more connected screen ecosystem.

This is a free, in-person event focused on practical careers strategy, employer engagement and progression pathways. We will be there exhibiting and discussing how screen careers can complement your wider careers provision.
