The Blitz was the time during World War Two when many British cities suffered sustained bombing from German aircraft. Hope and Glory looks at the events of the time through the eyes of a young boy growing up in London - whose imagination is fired up by the thrilling yet dangerous nightly bombardment. The wrecked buildings provide him and his friends with a great place to play, while his teenage sister conducts an affair with a Canadian soldier. Hope and Glory provides an honest and often hilarious look at how the war affected those on the home front.
Memorable film about a boy growing up in a working-class area of London after World War Two, who becomes obsessed with a fable he hears.
