Carol Reed, the director of such fantastic British movies as The Third Man, made this unique and memorable film about a young boy growing up above a tailor's shop in a working-class area of London after World War Two, who becomes obsessed with a fable he hears. Convinced that owning a magical unicorn (actually a baby goat) will allow him to grant wishes to the people around him, he sets out to transform the lives of his friends and neighbours - and it sometimes seems that his dream might not be so unlikely after all. Mixing the fantastical with a gritty and realistic portrait of London life in the 1950s, this is an unusual and fascinating movie from a great British director.
Sweet, imaginative animated fable about a girl and her sister who move to a forest which is full of friendly spirits.
