Synopsis

Barrister Archibald Leach is quintessentially British - a repressed, straight-laced chap who is shaken out of his complacency when he becomes embroiled in the ever more farcical shenanigans of a motley group of criminals, including a beautiful con-woman. Veteran director Charles Crichton employs his experience to great comic effect, while Kevin Kline deservedly won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the demented weapons man Otto.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
