Synopsis

It's the 1920s, and the windy city of Chicago is alive with the sound of jazz. But for wannabe singer Roxie Hart, the only sound she's going to be hearing is jail doors slamming behind her. After shooting her lover, she faces imprisonment and possibly the death sentence. But Roxie's fortunes may change after she encounters the notorious vaudeville star Velma Kelly, and a slick lawyer by the name of Billy Flynn.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
