Synopsis

Cry Baby is a moody tough guy from the wrong side of the tracks, Allison is a clean-cut girl from a "nice" family. When they fall in love it sets the Drapes against the Squares. Think you have heard that story before? Don't worry, this very funny musical comedy knows exactly how well worn its basic plot is, but brings it to life with great songs and bizarre supporting characters. Johnny Depp nails it as Cry Baby in one of his first big movie roles.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
