Synopsis

While previous Batman films have dealt only briefly with the superhero's life before he started fighting crime, Batman Begins centres on those early years - and the events that led up to him becoming the "Caped Crusader". After witnessing the killing of his parents, a young Bruce Wayne seeks revenge against any villain that dares set foot in Gotham City. With newly-acquired ninja skills and nifty gadgets, Batman hunts down shady characters like The Scarecrow and Falcone, a mafia godfather, in what became one of the most successful reinventions of a superhero to be seen on screen.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
