The best superhero movies aren't just about impressive stunts and gripping action - they're also a handy way to explore what it means to be human. This 2000 film from M. Night Shyamalan explores the premise that superheroes might exist not just in Metropolis or Gotham, but in the real world too. Comic book fan Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) has endured long stays in hospital due to a rare condition which makes his bones very fragile. Elijah theorises that if he is on one end of the spectrum, perhaps there also exists a human whose bones are unusually strong - 'unbreakable', even. When he hears of David Dunn, a security guard who is the sole survivor of a train crash that killed 131 people, Elijah thinks he may just have discovered his superhero…
Contains one moderate sexual reference and moderate horror and violence.
