Special Event: Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse + Workshop with Nikesh Shukla

Following the screening of the film, Nikesh Shukla, a British author and screenwriter will be running a workshop. Shukla is a novelist and screenwriter who is currently working on a Marvel Spider-Man India comic book miniseries. Recently, he released his first children's book, The Council Of Good Friends. His writing focuses on race, racism, identity, and immigration. He was one of Time Magazine's cultural leaders, Foreign Policy magazine's 100 Global Thinkers and The Bookseller's 100 Most Influential People in publishing in 2016 and 2017. His memoir, Brown Baby: A Memoir Of Race, Family And Home, was longlisted for the Jhalak Prize.

After the events of Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales is trying his best to settle into his new life as a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. However, school, family and crimefighting is not an easy balance to strike. When a strange entity known as ‘The Spot' turns up at his local mini-mart, it sets off a chain of events that sees Miles not only reuniting with his multi-verse crush Spider-Gwen (who has her own family issues to solve) but also encountering a world where a seemingly infinite number of Spider-People exist.
