This resource is designed to give young people the opportunity to discuss some of the issues that affect them as they grow up, specifically relating to mental health and wellbeing and to support them to consider ways in which a person can nurture their positive mental health themselves or with help from others.

Using characters and situations in films provides young people with a way of discussing topics and issues in a non-personal, non-judgemental way. All of the films in this resource have been made by young people, which is a great way to demonstrate that many others have also had to work through similar issues.

Into Film has created this resource to help educators guide post-film related discussions with groups that are fun, thought-provoking and help to build young people's knowledge and understanding.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.

What our educators say

"The Filmmaking Guides have been invaluable in helping novice filmmakers, from ensuring their story is well told, to thinking about light, camera angles and editing."
