Dr. Seuss' classic story returns to the big screen in its latest version, this time in animated form. The Grinch - the grumpiest creature in Whoville, an otherwise joyful community - hates Christmas time most of all, as it reminds him of the lonely days he spent as a child, enviously watching others celebrating while he was left alone. Having had enough of the happiness all around him, The Grinch decides to steal Christmas with the help of his loyal dog, Max. Meanwhile, Cindy Lou - one of the village's younger residents - decides to track down Santa for a selfless wish of her own.
Paul Dano makes his directorial debut with Wildlife, adapting the novel of the same name for the screen, telling the story of a 14 year-old boy in 1960 Montana who does everything he can to keep his family together as his parents begin to grow apart; elsewhere, Peter Jackson's archive-led World War One documentary They Shall Not Grow Old briefly returns to cinemas over the weekend, before playing on BBC Two at 9.30pm on Sunday 11 November.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom picks up four years after the events of the previous film in which the theme park was destroyed, with Isla Nublar now abandoned by humans. When the island's dormant volcano threatens to erupt, Owen and Claire can't help but launch a rescue mission, determined to save the dinosaurs from certain extinction.
Filmmaker Agnès Varda and street artist JR embark on a road trip through a number of French towns and villages in Faces Places, a documentary celebrating art, creativity and community; also available to order is Uncle Drew, a sports comedy which sees a basketball coach seeking to tempt a legendary player out of retirement to play for his local street team in a Harlem tournament.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Faces Places both play in the Into Film Festival over the next two weeks, with places still available to book for free.
