Into Film Clubs

The Into Film Awards 2026 took place on Tuesday 16 June 2026, at London's iconic ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, celebrating the best and brightest young filmmaking and film reviewing talent from across the UK, and those who support and facilitate their aspirations.
Hosted by broadcaster, best-selling children's author and former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq, the ceremony saw awards presented across 13 categories to some of the UK's most remarkable and creative young filmmakers and their champions. A whole host of screen industry stars joined us to hand out the awards, with notable presenters including actors Hayley Atwell, Jason Isaacs, Bella Ramsey, David Jonsson, and Jodie Whittaker.
The talent out there is both refreshing and inspiring, especially when living in such uncertain, progressive and fast-moving times. Nurturing empathy is so important, and knowing it exists in such liberal doses in these talented young story tellers is just great.

For many of our young nominees, who travelled in from every corner of the UK, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, with some getting to visit the capital city for the very first time, and all of them getting to follow in the footsteps of countless movie stars and walk the iconic red carpet in Leicester Square.
Into Film CEO, Fiona Evans commented: "The Into Film Awards is the UK's most prestigious showcase for young filmmakers, backed by leaders from across the industry. Each year we receive hundreds of brilliant entries and for every young filmmaker walking the red carpet today, the Awards will be a life-changing experience.
We are thrilled to see creative activities such as filmmaking recognised in Government's new Enrichment Benchmarks released this week. We welcome the Benchmarks as an important and positive step for young people because access to creative and cultural experiences should not be for a lucky minority, but a fundamental part of every child's education. Film is uniquely placed to enrich and support media literacy, critical thinking and wellbeing, in ways that are engaging and helps them better understand others and the world around them.
The incredible young people and educators recognised at this year's Awards show what can be achieved when schools, creative industries, charities and government all work together to give children the opportunity to express themselves."
As always, the films we receive at the Into Film Awards provide a fascinating and invaluable insight into the things that are important to young people. In an increasingly fast-moving and ever-changing world, we believe it's more important than ever to support young people to use their voices and utilise film to tell not only their own stories, but to address the things that matter to them.
Among the films this year were documentaries that challenge stereotypes around the working classes and that open up conversations around neurodivergence and mental health, as well as affecting stories about LGBTQ+ acceptance, cultural identity, and the lived experiences of refugees.
Awards included Best Animation and Best Film across several age ranges, as well as Best Documentary and our Time for Action award (sponsored by Swatch), which asked young people to create a film that raises awareness of issues important to them and explores the changes they would like to make in the world.
Our Best Story award once again sought to showcase the films with the most creative plots, engaging characters and innovative ways of telling a story, while the Audience Choice Award saw a public vote take place across our social media channels, giving each of our nominated films another chance to take home a coveted Into Film Award (and amassing over 175,000 combined views in the process!)
Our brand-new Innovation in Filmmaking category delivered dazzling technical accomplishments and pushed the boundaries of narrative conventions, while the return of Best Film Review allowed young people an opportunity to flex their literacy muscles and express themselves on the films they loved - or didn't!
Elsewhere, our Ones to Watch category recognised three inspirational young people who have already achieved remarkable things and whom we believe are destined to be the future of the UK's screen industries, while our Filmmaking Champions category celebrated those people and groups that support and facilitate young people's filmmaking and make it possible for their creativity to shine.
The incredible young people and educators recognised at this year's Awards show what can be achieved when schools, creative industries, charities and government all work together to give children the opportunity to express themselves.
