Based on the ancient Hopi Indian word meaning "life out of balance", Koyaanisqatsi is a hypnotic vision of our complex and endangered world, cut to a mesmerising score by composer Philip Glass. The wordless film blends images, music and ideas to form a visual poem that provides a unique view of daily life across the globe - with Earth's most remote corners sharing the screen with dizzying cityscapes in a riveting tour of the planet.
A film told through extended shots of various worldwide events, settings, and creatures, creating a dreamy, universal resonance.
