Synopsis

When eccentric billionaire John Hammond discovers a way in which humans can clone dinosaurs using prehistoric DNA, he decides to open a theme park for visitors from all over the world. However, before his elegantly named 'Jurassic Park' opens, he decides to invite a group of scientists, along with his niece and nephew, to the island in order to get their skilled opinion on the awe-inspiring park. Whilst they are immediately stunned by seeing living, breathing dinosaurs such as the T-Rex and Triceratops up close, things begin to go awry when a tropical thunderstorm hits the island and the security systems become compromised. One of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters of all time and a landmark in special effects, this thrill-ride of a film also touches upon aspects of man vs nature, technology and greed.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
