During World War I, with their father away fighting and their mother busy as a nurse, five children are sent to stay with their eccentric uncle. Out playing one day they discover an ancient, grumpy sand fairy - called It - who tells them he can grant wishes. However, whether sprouting wings or conjuring up dinosaurs, whatever the children wish for seems to end in chaos. This children's adventure, based on E. Nesbit's original story, sees Eddie Izzard as typically eccentric good value as a charmingly-visualised CGI It.
