James Dean only starred in three films before dying in a 1956 car crash, but he did enough in those roles to remain an icon half a century later. This is an adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel about family conflict, with Dean playing the rebellious son of a sternly religious father. It's his angry confusion, and the mixture of hate and respect that he has for his father, that is at the heart of this compelling film.
Darkly brilliant tale that sees a disguised ex-con hunt down a secret stash of money.
