Widely regarded as one of the most chilling ghost stories to ever appear on the big-screen, The Haunting is essential viewing for those who like something a little spooky in their films, but best avoided by those of a more sensitive nature! The frights begin when four guests arrive at a famously haunted house, each with a different reason for being there and different levels of scepticism about the idea of the supernatural. But what they encounter in "Hill House" soon leaves them terrified - just as it will you. The Haunting has almost nothing in the way of special effects, but it's that very understated quality that makes the film so brilliantly creepy.
