Just over ten years ago, a low-budget horror film that claimed to consist of real footage became a surprise hit. The main difference between The Blair Witch Project then and Paranormal Activity now is the earlier film was set in the woods, and this one is about a couple in their own home. But both work on the deeply creepy idea that the characters are haplessly filming themselves while at risk from some unseen danger. And it's the completely believable normality of the suburban setting that makes this film so scary.
Psychological horror about a mysterious character from a children’s book plaguing a young boy and his widowed mother in their home.
