This adaptation of the HG Wells story starts in the 1960s with three astronauts setting off on a much-anticipated maiden voyage to the moon. The excitement dies down a little, however, when they land and discover proof that someone got there before them - in 1899! The history of the very first mission to the moon is then revealed, beginning with eccentric scientist Joseph Cavor's discovery of an anti-gravity substance before taking in his spectacular trip to the moon with two friends, and the marvellous and strange things they discover when they get there. With some great stop-motion special effects, this is a fun trip to outer space.
Stunning movie was pieced together from the archive footage of the Apollo missions with a soundtrack by Brian Eno.
