Synopsis

Writer Truman Capote was internationally renowned for his fine creative talents. He was a man equally capable of turning his hand to journalism, plays, novels or film scripts. But he was also a difficult man whose decision-making could be highly questionable - and both sides of his personality would come into play when he wrote a bestselling book about the murder of a family in rural Holcomb, Kansas. This is a fine portrait of someone for who the story was always the most important thing, and a fascinating glimpse of an early example of what we now know as celebrity culture.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
