Synopsis

Timothy Treadwell had a passion for bears - regularly travelling to the Alaskan wilderness to study and live with the grizzlies. The highly-engaging Grizzly Man documents Treadwell's quest to understand and bond with the endangered species as he films their fight for survival in the faces of great odds. However, in October 2003, Treadwell was killed along with his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, by a rogue bear - and this unique film tells his often amazing, ultimately tragic but always thought-provoking tale.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
