Although three decades have passed since the original Rage virus outbreak turned regular people into dangerous, unrecognisable monsters and destroyed the United Kingdom, it has barely recovered. A new wave of survivors have set up a community on a supposedly safe island surrounded by a vast body of water, occasionally venturing out to bring back supplies and search for evidence of natural immunity. 12-year-old Spike, desperate to help, is eventually allowed to join his father Jamie on one of these missions, despite the protestations of his mother Isla, who is struggling with a mysterious illness. As they navigate ruined towns and fragmented communities, Spike begins to realise the only way to save his mother may be to bring her to see the enigmatic Dr. Kelson, a former GP who has exiled himself. However, the outside world is more frightening, and evolving quicker, than anyone has yet to realise. An intense horror movie that also acts as an allegory for the current state of Britain, this long-awaited sequel leaves much to be discussed.
Classification strong bloody violence, gore, horror, very strong language
