Mully, a young boy on the cusp of becoming a teenager, is having a very rough time. Having recently lost his mother to cancer, he also finds out that his father is stealing the donations meant for her memorial. Joy, meanwhile, is a headstrong solicitor who has recently given birth but does not see a future for herself as a mother and makes plans to take her child to her sister, across the country. These two distinct lives collide when, in a fit of desperation Mully steals the taxi that Joy is supposed to be taking - but, rather than call the police, the unlikely allies decide to partake on a wild road trip across Ireland. Although they are wildly different, the two new friends begin to bond over their shared heartbreak at all that life has thrown at them, taking detours that neither expected. A life-affirming Irish dramedy with a lot of heart amongst its lead performances.
