On the 13th October, 1972, a plane that was scheduled to land in Santiago, Chile crashed in the remote and desolate Andes mountains. Amongst the 42 passengers were a group of friends and teammates from Old Christians Rugby Club, many of whom perished in the crash but some who survived. This drama film focuses on those survivors, isolated in the most extreme conditions without supplies, and the terrifying lengths they must go to in order to stay sane and alive. As the conditions worsen, and they suffer through avalanches, sickness and further loss, the group turns to spirituality, philosophy and comradery to strengthen their hope that they may one day be rescued. This one-of-a-kind Spanish-language survival film is an intense viewing experience laced with fantastic filmmaking techniques and an in-depth, intelligent look at the resolve of the human spirit.
