Project Apollo – a program of space missions announced by President John F. Kennedy – was conceived at the start of the 1960s. Its goal was to put a man on the Moon and safely return him to Earth as part of the Space Race in which the US and Soviet Union competed to be the first country to do so. This documentary, comprised of archive footage such as TV coverage, radio broadcasts, home movies, NASA film and never-before-heard Mission Control Audio, tells the story of an incredible time in human history as NASA embark on 12-manned missions intended to achieve one seemingly impossible goal.
