This uplifting film follows nine passionate high school students as they prepare for Intel’s Science and Engineering Fair, the biggest international fair of its kind, where young people gather from across the world to showcase their research and inventions, in return for a life-changing grant and prestigious awards that could lead to scholarships. Following students from all walks of life, predominantly American students but also some from around the world, such as Germany and Brazil, the film captures their sheer creativity and work ethic alongside the comedic awkwardness of teenage life. Amongst their determination, the film also touches on issues of inequality faced by some of the contenders, and the supportive teachers and parents who help them reach their goals. This is a joyful look at the power of science and the bright future young people can offer society.
