Synopsis

The lockdown of spring 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic was dizzying experience all of us. For young people in the midst of discovering who they are and their place in the world, this ephemeral time was brought into sharp focus by these highly unusual circumstances, leading to deep reflections about society, mental health and the power of nature. In this experimental documentary, the anonymous voices of young people, recorded at home while in isolation, are knitted together with a series of evocative portraits of empty urban spaces and pent-up youthful energy. The result is an introspective and empathetic piece of visual poetry, which may offer catharsis and inspiration to young audiences searching for their own expression.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
