Synopsis

During the months of June and July 2018, the world found themselves glued to the news after hearing that a youth football team in Thailand, aged 11-16, had gone missing during the flash flooding sweeping the area they had been exploring. A week later they were discovered trapped in an underground cave, along with their coach, by specialist divers. Alive, but struggling with hunger and isolation, a plan began to form on how to rescue them. ‘The Rescue’ charts the incredible efforts made to save the football team from such treacherous circumstances, going into detail about the experience, skills and determination put into practice whilst also highlighting the shared humanity of the worldwide community that united for the rescue to take place.
