Synopsis

This thoughtful drama about the recent rise in gang violence and postcode wars looks at its effect, both subtle and hard-hitting, on the lives of young people. Timmy and Marco are high school students from South London living in rival postcodes. They are best friends and although they have very different personalities – Timmy is sensitive and studious while Marco is street smart and in the shadows of his brother’s gang – the two have an inseparable bond. When Timmy begins to date a girl in school, and a series of violent attacks take place between local neighbourhood gangs, their friendship is brutally tested, and their lives put at risk. This creative film, which blends original music by the director with a dramatic narrative about young black men growing up with difficult circumstances, explores relevant themes in an accessible way.
