Synopsis
Akeem Sharp is a Jamaican sprinter who the sporting community have high hopes for, believing that he could very well be the next track-and-field sensation. However, his dream is threatened by the troubles in his home life, including a volatile father and an older brother who participates in shady dealings. Akeem’s mother, meanwhile, has lived for over a decade as an illegal immigrant in the US, supporting the family with her income, and Akeem hopes that his burgeoning sporting career will allow them to be reunited in this hard-hitting drama.
