Synopsis

Adonis Creed spent part of his childhood growing up in foster homes before being adopted and raised in privilege by the kind-hearted Mary Anne. However, Adonis feels the urge to fight and takes up boxing to control his desire for aggression. Having seen firsthand the damage that boxing can do, Mary Anne is keen to protect Adonis from following in the footsteps of his father, the famous boxer Apollo Creed. Undeterred by her concern, Adonis quits his corporate job to pursue boxing professionally and heads to Philadelphia to seek his father’s friend and former rival, Rocky Balboa. While naturally talented in the ring, Adonis’ pride and quick temper are potential setbacks. Will his wish to succeed on his own merits without making use of his father’s name stand in the way of his success? This addition to the well-regarded Rocky franchise is a sports film with a social conscience.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
