Based on the incredible memoir by Ron Stallworth, the first African-American police officer and detective in Colorado, America, and his undercover operation of the Ku Klux Klan, this satire grapples with America’s history of racism and terrorism. Set in the early 1970s, a young Ron humorously uses a “white voice” to contact a local KKK leader, from which he learns that the group is aiming to sanitise their violent rhetoric to continue appealing to the wider public. Embarking on a mission to infiltrate the hate group, Ron recruits a Jewish police office called Flip Zimmerman, while also finding help from his love interest Patrice, an activist college student. This outrageous but urgent film exposes racial dynamics while poking fun at the current political climate and highlighting how far there is to go.
Racist violence and language, very strong language.
