Synopsis

There have been lots of adaptations of Charles Perrault’s fairy tale told on film already. Often very funny and full of warmth, this colourful live-action version is traditional, yet magical, helped immensely by fabulous costumes and spectacular sets that will enchant audiences all over again. In this version, Cinderella continues to exude kindness and courage to all creatures, in spite of facing a great tragedy as a young girl. Meanwhile her stepmother is given a slightly more complicated backstory than we are used to.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
