Synopsis

When Victor loses his beloved pet Sparky, he does not deal with the loss the way other children would. Instead, inspired by his well-meaning science teacher, he conducts an experiment to try and bring the dog back to life. When he succeeds, the situation quickly escalates out of Victor's control, as his classmates also get involved in the business of animal resurrection causing havoc in their local town. This stylish black-and-white animation by the spooky creator of The Nightmare Before Christmas is littered with references to many of Hollywood's classic horror films.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
