Synopsis

Dakota Fanning goes British for her starring role in this touching drama, playing a 17-year-old who is dying of leukaemia and is intent on cramming as much life experience into the little time she has left, drawing up a to-do list that includes taking drugs and losing her virginity. When attractive new neighbour Adam arrives on the scene, the prospect of romance rears its head. A gently irreverent sense of humour and skilled acting from a great cast keep the film from becoming too melodramatically schmaltzy, even though several scenes are bound to have you reaching for your tissues.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
