Synopsis

This 1960s set film focuses on the attempts of a well-meaning Southern belle (Emma Stone) who is an aspiring author, to write a book telling the story of African-American maids in the racist Deep South, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis. A moving story of friendship and heroism in the face of prejudice, for which Octavia Spencer won the best supporting actress oscar.
