Synopsis

This atmospheric movie from Spain is horror, but not of the buckets of blood and gore variety. Instead Julia's Eyes derives its scares from proper characters and creeping, scary atmosphere. Julia is slowly losing her eyesight due a condition that apparently led her sister to commit suicide. Although she can see less and less, Julia is more and more sure that someone or something is stalking her. Of course, nobody believes her and she's left to face this mysterious menace by herself. It's a brilliantly made, excellently acted and beautiful looking film that avoids cheap thrills, while still giving us a decent fright.

What our educators say

"Some of them saw a clip from Wakolda (The German Doctor) on TV recently and really wanted to watch it. So I thought I’d take a chance, not expecting them to watch the whole film but the majority were absolutely gripped. "
