The director of the famous anime, Akira, spent 10 years working on Steamboy, and when you see his painstaking recreation of the Victorian era, you'll understand why. Ray is a young inventor, living at the height of England's industrialisation, whose life is endangered when his grandfather sends him a powerful and mysterious contraption called the Steam Ball. Steamboy is an exciting adventure that also explores the purpose of scientific advance - should it serve humanity...or only science itself?
