Synopsis

Judd Apatow, whether as writer, director or producer, has been involved in some of the most successful US comedies in recent years (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, Pineapple Express...). Anchorman - which Apatow produced is both deeply silly and very funny, and stars Will Ferrell as top 1970s newscaster Ron Burgundy whose chauvinist attitudes, as of-the-times as his flapping flares and luxuriant moustache, are threatened with the arrival at his TV station of ambitious female reporter Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate).

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
