Synopsis

This excellent, disturbing and informative Austrian drama is a fictionalised version of a true, neglected chapter from World War II. One of the Germans' plans for undermining the allied war effort was to flood the British economy with counterfeit currency and the central character is an experienced forger who also happens to be Jewish. When he finds himself in a concentration camp he is offered the appalling choice between certain death or working on these forgeries.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
