Webinar - Pathways into the Screen Industries

This session focuses on the different pathways young people can take to pursue careers in the screen industries including academic routes, apprenticeships and training programmes, and direct-to-industry routes (via entry level roles).
By the end of the session, you will have increased knowledge on each pathway, and be more confident in advising students based on interests, personal circumstances and aspirations.
Online Course - Aardman Animations: Careers
What kind of skills are needed for a career in animation? What can young people do now to get ahead of the pack? And what are some of the routes into the industry?
Join Mark Hewis, Head of the Aardman Academy, for the answers to these questions and hear examples from his own career to help inspire young people as they consider next steps in the screen industries.
By the end of the sequence, you'll be able to:

Online Course - Screen Careers Across the Curriculum
Aimed at educators and careers professionals supporting 11-18 year olds, this online course will help you to make unexpected connections between school subjects and job roles in film, TV, animation, VFX and games. We'll explore hidden roles and skills with applications that extend across and beyond the screen industries, and take you on a journey through a games studio in Northern Ireland to see how they have put some of those subjects into practice.

Meet early career professionals and learn different ways that young people can take their first steps into the screen industries. You'll learn about the skills and qualities that got them the job and what a typical working day looks like, getting an inside perspective on the range of pathways available to enter the world of film and TV production.

Discover the different sectors that make up the screen industries and learn how to tackle some of the common queries that you'll come across in discussions with your students. You'll get the inside scoop on the range of roles on offer, key labour market information and the work the industry is doing to become more accessible to a diverse range of young people.
