Disney’s Strange World: We Are All Explorers is a curriculum-linked learning sequence for KS1 & KS2 which draws on the fantastical settings, characters and story of the action-packed adventure Strange World, only in cinemas Wednesday November 23.
Strange World introduces a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land inhabited by surreal creatures.
Our new two-lesson resource takes inspiration from the film to help teachers engage students aged 6-11 across core curriculum subjects, including English/literacy, geography, art & design and science.
Activities within the resource include:
Strange World Senses activity
Pupils will become explorers in the world of the film by imagining what they might sense and experience in the strange and impossible landscapes.
Strange World Explorer’s Map activity
Challenge your students to adventure through the Strange World and create their own maps using compass point instructions and key cartography features.
Strange World Explorer’s Diary activity
Delving further into the original story of Strange World, students will write a descriptive diary entry to capture what a day with the Clades family might involve.
Your students’ in-class learning will be enhanced by a home-learning task which builds on the themes of the resource.
We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
