Our featured new-in-cinema title this week is The Miseducation of Cameron Post, an LGBT drama set in 1993 in which a teenage girl is sent to a gay conversion therapy camp. When the eponymous Cameron is caught kissing her female best friend in the back seat of a car, she's sent to God's Promise, a conversion therapy centre run by two religious siblings. While she's there, Cameron forms friendships and begins to learn more about herself and her sexuality, in this acclaimed adaptation of the 2012 novel of the same name.

American Animals; Under the Wire
Elsewhere this week, Bart Layton's fascinating docu-drama American Animals blends fiction and reality to tell the story of four US college students who decided to carry out an audacious heist of valuable texts in Kentucky, 2003; and Under the Wire is a more traditional documentary about two Sunday Times war correspondents - an American journalist and a British photographer - who illegally entered Syria in 2012 to report on the Siege of Homs, a military confrontation between the Syrian army and the Syrian opposition.

Avengers: Infinity War
Our featured film released on DVD this week is the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War, labelled as one of the most ambitious crossovers in film history. Bringing together The Avengers, The Guardians of the Galaxy and other allies from previous entries in the series, this film is the culmination of ten years of planning and anticipation, as cosmic tyrant Thanos - the adoptive father of Gamora and Nebula - seeks to collect the final few Infinity Stones so he can wipe out half of the universe's population in this fast-paced, engaging blockbuster.

The Rape of Recy Taylor is a powerful documentary which blends archive footage from classic films and modern day testimony to tell the story of Recy Taylor, a woman who was sexually assaulted by a gang of white boys in 1944, and her subsequent fight for justice, with Rosa Parks lending her voice to the cause; and Mary Shelley is a period drama which looks at the life of the 'Frankenstein' author - who published her Gothic masterpiece at the age of just 20 - including her upbringing, writing process, and the turbulent relationship with husband Percy Bysshe Shelley.
