Into Film Clubs
Find out everything you need to know about starting an Into Film Club.
The Into Film Youth Advisory Council (YAC) was established to help us find out what young people think about our work and to make sure we're always listening to what they want. Five regional groups of passionate 10 to 18-year-olds regularly come together to give us valuable feedback and take part in fun, film-related activities. The YAC helps shape the Into Film programme and provides an essential voice for future generations of young cinemagoers.
Below, Jadon Ayuko, from Deptford, London, who was on the YAC from 2019-2021, tells us why he's so proud that he took part.
"I love the way films show but don't tell. They can create really good feelings with the colours they use, or a twist ending. My dream job would be a story writer or director. I already go to Boss Crowns Film Club, in Barking, every Friday where we make and edit films, and write scripts.
One of the leaders told me there was an opening on the Youth Advisory Council, so I volunteered; I thought ‘I can do this!'. It sounded like such a good thing to do. I put that I like making videos, editing and filming in my application - when I got through, I was so surprised!
I was on the England South Council for two years, from 2019-2021. Being a member teaches you to listen to people's ideas more, and to cooperate on one key idea that you eventually decide on together. It also makes you feel like your voice is being heard and that you can get your point across.
Being a YAC member makes me feel proud. You feel like your voice is being heard.

One of my best experiences was doing a Q&A with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and Colin Needham from IMDb. I was nervous before the event, because I hadn't done an interview like that before. But I'd feel more confident if I had to interview someone now. It was really good to hear the experts' stories and find out where they get all their ideas for films from.
Meeting new people and making friends were my favourite things about being on the Council, but being a YAC member also makes me feel proud. It's an experience I would never have got if I hadn't applied for it. Because of Into Film and the YAC, I feel like it is possible for me to have a career in film."
