Kick-start Careers with the Into Film Awards 2025

Encouraging young people to have a go at filmmaking and enter the Into Film Awards is a great way to test their interest in a career in the screen industries. Young people have until midday on Tuesday 4 March to create, edit and submit their short films into the biggest film awards event for young people in the UK.

Every year we bring together young people, educators and film industry professionals to celebrate the achievements of the next generation of filmmaking talent. We encourage entries from all levels of filmmaking, from beginners still harnessing their skills, to experience young directors, and strive to encourage and nurture the future faces of the UK film industry.

There are 11 categories, recognising talent in young people aged 5-19, including categories for animated, live-action, and documentary filmmaking. Taking part in the Into Film Awards can lead to a range of benefits including career development, especially for those who win our prestigious Ones to Watch award.

Discover more below, and don't forget there's a cash prize too!

Spotlight Resources

This month we're spotlighting our Industry Insiders resources, a series of short, snappy lessons to introduce secondary-aged students to the responsibilities of key industry roles. Each lesson features an industry encounter with a different role: editor, director, director of photography, art director.

These engaging, ready-to-use PowerPoint lessons introduce students to key roles in the screen industry, such as art director, director, director of photography, and editor. Enthusiastic young people will discover what they do, hear their top tips, find out the skills they'll need for their job, and try out some activities to develop a better understanding of the roles.
