As the year draws to a close, December offers time to look ahead and prepare for new opportunities. We're excited to be launching a new Warner Bros. Discovery Story Builder resource in the new year, but in the meantime, take a look at our previous edition, Story Builder: Unscripted TV, which will help you explore storytelling through television with 11-14 year olds.
And with some post-16 and post-18 application deadlines taking place in January, we've also included our Parent and Carer Guide to Careers in the Screen Industries to help those all-important influencers of young people navigate screen career options .
We also have some interesting career opportunities for young people to get involved with, from free ScreenWorks work experience programmes in Northern Ireland to our Get Into Film (GIF) channels, which highlight apprenticeship and other opportunities UK-wide.
We hope the resources and insights below will help you start round off 2025, and start the new year with momentum.
If you're new to Into Film, all you need to access our free resources and other opportunities listed below is an Into Film Account. Don't worry, it's completely free and only takes a moment to set up.
Throughout November, we were proud to lead Discover! Creative Careers Week programmes in Scotland and Wales, while also continuing to offer screen careers events across Northern Ireland and England through the Into Film Festival.
We delivered a raft of inspiring free careers events, connecting thousands of young people with hundreds of workplaces to give hands-on insight and experience of the creative industries.

Story Builder: Unscripted TV is an exciting resource that was created with Warner Bros. Discovery for students in Key Stage 3 (or equivalent). This free learning resource explores storytelling through the lens of television, prompting young people to create a pilot episode for a piece of unscripted TV. Whether you're a history, chemistry or PSHE teacher, this resource lets you transform your topics into an activity-based challenge show or to reimagine your subject as a reality TV programme.
Our free Parent and Carer Guide to Careers in the Screen Industries provides valuable insights into the sector and offers practical advice to parents/carers on how to support and encourage a young person's career journey. Share this guide with parents/carers who have a young person with their sights set on this exciting sector.

In July, 125 young people from across the UK took part in a three-day online (remote) work experience programme with Into Film, exploring what it's like to work behind the scenes in film and television.
The remote placement centred around a major group project - to reboot a children's television show with a spooky Hallowe'en theme. Over three days, participants met film and TV professionals, developed ideas collaboratively in breakout sessions, and presented their final concepts to the panel.
96% said the experience met their expectations, rating it 4.3 out of 5, with 77% of young people confident that they could achieved their career ambitions after taking part in the placement.
"Being part of the small groups really helped improved my confidence when talking to new people and I loved hearing from people in different roles that I didn't think of doing but now I will look deeper into them", said one participant.
If you're working with young people in Northern Ireland, don't miss the latest ScreenWorks opportunities.
Funded by the Department for Communities through Northern Ireland Screen and delivered by Into Film, our 3-5 day ScreenWorks work experience placements help young people aged 14-19 learn more about careers in the screen industries with first-hand experience.
All ScreenWorks programmes are free, and a travel bursary is available to reimburse young people for all public transport costs.
