Ahead of today's (28 September) Into Film Festival preview screening of The Woman King featuring a Q&A with star Lashana Lynch, we are extremely happy to announce that she is also becoming an Into Film Ambassador!
Lashana joins a prestigious line-up of Film Industry Ambassadors that are all passionate about educating and inspiring young people. They include Naomie Harris, Jack Lowden, Rhys Ifans, Sir Kenneth Branagh, Lucas Films EVP Lynwen Brennan, Eddie Redmayne and Matthew Rhys, to name a few.
Lashana Lynch said; "I am really excited and honoured to be a new Into Film Ambassador. I have been a huge admirer of Into Film's work for a long time and have seen the truly positive impact their work can have on children and young people's lives. I hope I can play a part in inspiring young people from all cultural and economic backgrounds to believe in both themselves and in their dreams".
Into Film CEO, Paul Reeve said; "Lashana has been a great supporter of Into Film's work, speaking at our special events for children and young people, including an International Women's Day Careers panel and as a presenter at this year's Into Film Awards. We are enormously proud that Lashana has agreed to be an Ambassador, and grateful for her time and passion for what we do. We look forward to working with Lashana further to inspire children and young people and wish her every success with her many forthcoming film releases".
Lashana made history as the first Black and female 007 in the latest Bond film, No Time to Die and was the winner of this year's EE BAFTA Rising Star Award. She can be seen next in Gina Prince-Bythewood's The Woman King to be released in the UK on 4 October and in Matthew Warchus' Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical, which opens both the London and Into Film Festivals and is released in the UK on 25 November. She will soon begin production on the Untitled Bob Marley biopic in the role of ‘Rita Marley' opposite Kingsley Ben-Adir.
Bookings for the Into Film Festival screenings and special events are now open and free to all UK schools.
We are supported by the BFI using National Lottery funding, thanks to National Lottery players, and the UK film industry through Cinema First. The National Lottery raises £36 million each week for good causes across the UK.
