Medium (5-11 activities)
Our City Lights to Mountain Heights resource, created to celebrate the release of DreamWorks Animations' Abominable on October 11, takes pupils aged 5-10 on an interactive, play-led journey through China. Exploring the landscapes and cultures across urban and rural settings, pupils' learning will mirror the magical adventure of characters Yi, Jin and Peng, as they embark on an epic quest to help their lost yeti friend Everest find his way back home.
Using geography, maths, PSHE and literacy learning, students can play our Bao Buns and Blueberries boardgame to discover geographical and cultural facts about China, whilst adding fun facts based on their own research.
Plus there are exciting video clips within the resource PowerPoint Presentations, featuring the cast of Abominable talking about the characters they play, their favourite fact about China and setting up the A Postcard from the Himalayas competition!
The competition closes on 1 November 2019. For more information, download the resource below.
We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
