Guardians of the galaxy is a superhero, sci fi film directed by James Gunn, and starring Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Chris Pratt. Perfect for Marvel fans and fans of action movies I would recommend this film people aged aged 8+.

We start the film with young Peter Quill and an introduction to the films amazing 70s and 80s inspired soundtrack. Following a family tragedy, Quill is kidnapped by aliens and brought up by ravagers, people who scour the galaxy for easy, and often illegal, ways of making money.

We then jump 36 years, and we have the iconic intro scene, key for a film later in the MCU. Peter steals a mysterious object and has a chase scene, during this we see the technology available to Quill and introduce his character’s personality.

After this we are introduced to the antagonist, and see some part of his plan,. We then meet the rest of the Guardians of the galaxy and many chaotic adventures happen, leading to a final battle between them and the antagonist.

This film has an iconic 70s and 80s soundtrack, and a colourful palette to reflect the films comedic mood. The camera angles change throughout the film depending on each characters viewpoint giving a varied viewing experience.

Overall, I would say this is a stand alone film and also a great film in the Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
