Wow i really enjoyed this film!! A great masterpiece with my favourite actor of all time, Ben Barnes!!! I love him hes amazing!!! Also loved Colin Firth (who wouldn't!?) and Rachel Hurdwood who I really enjoyed in Peter Pan. Have read the book and though that was great, so expected a lot in the film. The adaptation was perfect as no key points were missed out, and it was very chilling like the book. Seeing as Ben is quite a new actor it was a great role for him to take on, as it really taught him a lot about the type of scenes you have to shoot in a movie!! It is meant to also be a horror, but i think it was just thriller as it wasn't scary at all. 13 year olds would be fine with it. There are quite a few raunchy scenes but that doesn't change anything, just makes a great character for Dorian. I loved the story, as you have a beautiful youth who wishes to stay looking like he does forever after seeing a painting of himself, and this wish is granted. The cgi on the painting was also really awesome, and it really looked as if it was a real portrait ageing. The music is also another thing to metion, as it's really good and spine tingling. I personally love this movie and really recommend it, but just not for anyone really young because of some of the scenes.
